Hidilyn Diaz has been named the Philippine Sportswriters Association’s (PSA) Athlete of the Year for 2022.
The PSA, a group of journalists who cover sports in the Philippines, selected Diaz as the recipient of this prestigious award for her outstanding achievements in weightlifting.
Aside from her Olympic win, Diaz has also won several other competitions throughout her career, including multiple medals at the Southeast Asian Games and the Asian Games. She has become a source of inspiration and pride for Filipinos all over the world, who see her as a symbol of what can be achieved through hard work and perseverance.
